This gotta be one of the hidden gems in the valley. There are a few restaurants in this little cozy market. They Bobba tea, Pho, Pad thai, and more choices to pick from. They are all delicious and filling.
We got our food from May's place and they didn't disappoint. We will definitely be back for more.
Not bad.
The wife and I have been going to the Milwaukee store called 5XEN Market for years. We finally decided to give this place a visit. We came during the closing time, so there really was not a lot of people. Simple place. Clean. Trying to be like MN stores. Basic stuff. One major supermarket, few clothes stores (flee market style), and a food court. About 5-6 food restaurants.
We tried two food restaurants,
1) Kaoly's: I had the chicken/rice. Was good! Good size too.
2) Thai bubble tea: My wife had some papaya. That was a fail. She also had the Mangonada, which was below average.
For now, we are going to stick to our 5XEN location, because this place was too far for us Michigan travelers. Recommend getting the chicken/rice at Kaoly's.
Highly Recommended if you live close to Appleton/Greenbay.
If you live in Appleton/Greenbay you should consider trying 5XEN Market in Milwaukee, the food is worth the travel.
I had bought a meal of ginger sausage as well as sticky rice from May's Kitchen, and soon after became sick with food poisoning. I know why this happened though so maybe poisoning of the body wasn't as strategic of a strike after all. I know white people aren't liked by Hmong people, but working with them to go against another that doesn't need to poison people's food to "get ahead" is even dumber than the poisoning itself. Who's deserving?
Great community!
(Shop) Loved the selection of clothes and cloth.
(Grocery store)They had huge jars of kimchi. Fresh ethnic farmers produce.
(Food court) Great place to enjoy a bubble tea. Workers were prompt in clearing tables as people left. No longer than a 10 minute wait for a seat-yourself-table, during the peak hour I was there. I only saw one group of people who had to wait. Otherwise everyone else has no wait time. Food and drink came out fast.
Went to Mays kitchen and had pho combo, awesome! Looking forward to another visit.
Most disappointing broth I ever tasted in the Midwest. The broth is catered to white people. If there were a negative star, I would give it to it, but they have no negative star so one star it is I guess that’s not worth it.
Try out May’s Kitchen in Long Cheng Marketplace!
Long Cheng Marketplace has an oriental grocery store, 2 aisles of clothes/makeup/jewelry, a banquet hall, and the main attraction: 4 restaurants along the back side of the wall. The only pic I had was of the restaurant I ate at and the highlight of the place. 2 stars off because parking is not the best, difficult to find this place (in the middle of a neighborhood) and not all the vendor suites are rented out so the place is a bit empty, and a somewhat dirty. Not the best, but ok for what’s available in Appleton.
Good place in Appleton to get your Asian grocery need. The vendors open whenever they want. So it's a hit and miss if you're looking for a specific vendor if their open. The food here is not bad.
